Quinta do Romeu has been owned by the Menéres Family Estate for five generations, since 1874. It covers several thousand hectares of olive groves, cork trees and vineyards in Tras-Os-Montes, northeast Portugal.

Grape varieties

Blend of traditional Douro grapes varieties, mainly Tinta Barroca, but also Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão, Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional from the wine makers own vineyards.

Spontaneous co-fermentations in open thread tanks (lagares) with gentle pigeage and pumping over.
